Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Moravosilesian Palaeozoic, Lower Carboniferous. Nature Reserve. Deeply cut Moravice River Valley with outcrops of shales and siltstones of the Moravice Formation. Several relics of old mining works where roofing slates were exploited. Important paleontological locality which yielded fossil fauna, flora and ichnofossils. Protected mixed woodland.
